Ana Cecilia Stieglitz was born in Rochester New York and raised in Mexico City in a community where filmmaking and theater were a part of life. She later returned to New York to study acting and earned a Masters Degree in Communication Sciences from Pratt NYC.
Ana's lifelong passion for acting brought her to work closely with acting coach Susan Batson and actor-director James A Lee. After landing several indie lead roles in short films including: "Memoria de Octavia" by Marly Hernandez, winner of the Silver Palm Award (Mexico´s International Film Festival), "Revenant" by Jeremie Lecaudey, "Wendy" by Kurt Shi, and Eric Kater's "The Gathering Dark". She stared in Investigation Discovery´s "Stalked" Someone's watching, and was part of the cast in the controversial "Welcome to New York" directed by Abel Ferrara ("Bad Lieutenant")starring Gérard Depardieu. Ana was a part of the ensemble in "Thinly Veiled" a feature by award winner Adolfo Doring ("Blind Spot").
Ana Cecilia´s latest work includes guest roles in HBO´s Sr. Avila, directed by Fernando Rovzar; Amazon´s Original Series ¨Mozart in the Jungle¨ directed by Roman Coppola; the upcomming feature ¨Pepito: Sin Salida¨ by Joaquin Rodriguez, and the controversial ¨ICAROS: A Vision¨, official selection of the Tribeca Film Festival 2016, and one of the 10 narratives at the Independent Filmmaker Project. Written and directed by Leonor Caraballo and Matteo Norzi.
Ana Cecilia is part of the alumnae at The Susan Batson Studio. She has was a member of the Tres Artis Theater Group lead by scholar Stephen Michaels and keeps an ongoing relationship with the film and theater alumnae community from NYU and The New Shcool.
