The Wall Street Journal selects Icaros: a vision as one of five top films at Tribeca Film Festival.
Watch a clip from the film.
¨A very personal film made with a meditative and observant resolve “Icaros” balances its perspective between two characters: An American woman looking for healing magic in the Peruvian Amazon, and a young shaman who suddenly finds the essence of his life at stake. The culture-clash commentary is left at the periphery, as eccentric European tourists arrive for their encounter with ayahuasca and its psychedelic insights. Instead, the story suggests that a more profound chemistry can exist between two seekers. The film parallels the life, and death, of its co-director Leonor Caraballo,a New York photographer and video artist who died last year before the film was completed.¨
